On the local, national and international stage, Catalyst Theatre has a reputation for creating bold and unique theatrical productions recognized for their beautiful designs and images, powerful musical scores, poetic scripts and ensemble performances. They have received dozens of awards and nominations.
Catalyst employs “creation-based theatre,” meaning its productions are created by a team of artists. This approach is unique in Edmonton’s professional theatre community, and Catalyst devotes significant resources to foster the development of its artists and patrons.
Edmonton Community Foundation provided more than $100,000 to Catalyst between 1996 and 2008 from the Community, Winspear and Special Arts Funds.
