Edmonton Mennonite Centre success stories

Edmonton Community Foundation donors seek to build a rich, caring, inclusive community. A 2004 grant to the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers Society for its "Stay at School for a Better Future" program helped to realize that vision.

“This is the first school I have ever attended. I love life here . . . I know I have a future to look forward to,” said Dahabo Muhidin of Somalia.

Over 170 immigrant students from 30 countries attend Queen Elizabeth Composite High School. The Stay at School program helps with their studies, as well as with social skills and personal development.
