To give back to the community, Edmonton homebuilders Larry Anderson and Burke Perry established the Edmonton Regional Home Builder Charity Funds (ERHC) with the Edmonton Community Foundation in 2006.
The fund supports two ERHC initiatives.
A scholarship fund with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology provides $22,500 annually to students interested in entering the homebuilding trades. Scholarship amounts are expected to grow as the fund grows.
Home Base, the first of several anticipated housing projects, is an inner-city affordable housing project for disabled, economically dependent single adults. The ERHC has partnered with the Edmonton Inner City Housing Society, who will own and operate the project.
