As the largest non-governmental funder of the charitable sector in our City, ECF is in a unique position to address long-term, complex community needs by working with donors, charities, volunteers, government and community partners.

The Opportunity

The Digital Marketing & Web Specialist plays a pivotal role in our marketing and communications team. This multifaceted position requires a strategic thinker with expertise in digital marketing, web content management, and data-driven decision-making. As a key member of our team, this position leads our digital marketing efforts, optimizes our online presence, and drives measurable results.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Digital Marketing Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies and campaigns to drive brand awareness, engagement and achieves business objectives. 
    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentation to inform strategy development and campaign planning. 
    • Define target audiences, create compelling content, and select appropriate channels (e.g., social media, email, search engine marketing) to reach them effectively. 
    • Identify opportunities for growth, optimization, and innovation across digital channels, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. 
  • Website Management and Optimization: 
    • Manage the maintenance and optimization of our organization’s website to ensure functionality, usability, and performance. 
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure website functionality, security, and performance meet business objectives. 
    • Implement best practices for web design, navigation, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness to deliver an exceptional user experience (e.g. SEO).
  • Content Creation and Optimization: 
    • Develop compelling and relevant content for digital channels, including website pages, blog posts, email, and infographics. 
    • Craft engaging stories that resonate with our target audience and reinforce our brand identity and value proposition. 
    • Optimize content for SEO, user experience, and lead generation, leveraging keyword research and analytics insights. 
    • Monitor industry trends and activity to identify opportunities for content innovation and differentiation. 
    • Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all digital platforms. 
  • Performance Analytics and Reporting: 
    • Track and analyze website traffic, user behavior, and digital marketing campaign performance using web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hot Jar). 
    • Generate regular reports, dashboards, and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives and identify areas for improvement. 
    • Analyze data trends, patterns, and insights to inform decision-making, optimize strategies, and drive continuous improvement. 

The Ideal Candidate 

As the ideal candidate, you will have a university degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field combined with 3-5 years directly related work experience in digital marketing, web development, or related roles; equivalent combinations of related post-secondary education and directly related work experience will be considered. Candidates who do not meet the educational and experience requirements may be considered at lower classification and salary.   

You will have a proven track record in creating content tailored for digital platforms and web environments. In addition, you will have experience with using web analytics and related tools to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives and identify areas for improvement.   

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal). 
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, tactics, and tools, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and content marketing. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, drive insights, and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and ideas effectively. 
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. 
  • Superior ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with little supervision. 
  • Prior experience in an agency, crafting inbound marketing and digital advertising strategies for clients, is an asset. 
  • Proficiency with content marketing tools such as HubSpot, mass email platforms like MailChimp or Constant Contact, and web design tools like HTML and WordPress is preferred.

What We Offer

  • Salary Range: $61,000-$80,000/year 
  • A 35-hour standard work week.
  • Downtown work location with free parking available.

  • A hybrid work environment where employees have the opportunity to collaborate on site a minimum of 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
